COLOR AND LINE

Color and Line, a vibrant, two-person exhibition by regional painters Kevin Cosley and Soo Hong, explores the pulse of abstraction. Cosley’s bold interplay of color, depth, and form meets Hong’s expressive mark-making and dynamic emphasis of line. It doesn’t always happen with duo exhibits, but this pairing of local artists Soo Hong and Kevin Cosley is a match made in heaven. While visually distinct, their abstract paintings explode from the center and vibrate with entropic force and radiant musicality. These ever-expanding universes of fiery, semitranslucent brush strokes and icy polar lights (Cosley) or marks seemingly made by a conductor’s brush-ended baton (Hong) tumble you into pleasant weightlessness
